Where is the communal TV Aerial outlet?

Hi,

Just moved in a new flat and couldn't find the basic communal TV aerial plug. It's a new building so it must be there. I can see a CableTV BNC plugs.

Any ideas if the aerial would have been used by the CableTV company?

Thanks for help.

The workers might have accidentally forgotten to install / "pull out" the TV plug to an outlet. Sounds stupid I know, but you never know with these rush jobs some people do.

Best to check typical locations in the living room and master bedroom first. You might need to open some of the outlets to see if the cable wire is inside one of them (warning: turn off the mains power beforehand!!!) Or better yet, contact your landlord or developer and get answers from them.

Thanks. I've checked all rooms and it's the living room that doesn't have the TV aerial plug.

I'm planning to take a pick at the CableTV previous installation as this seems to be

the likely one that would have changed the outlet.

But what does a aerial TV cabling looks like?

It's usually a very firm white cable about the width of a normal pen or pencil. If you look at it from the cut end, it'll look like a solid copper wire in the centre with some clear insulation in between, then some braided copper wires, and finally the outer insulation of the cable itself.

You won't mistake it for an electrical wire since it's a lot thicker and has layers going inwards/outwards as described above.
