Can anyone advise me on how to leave my apartment for 6 weeks? Should I leave the windows open ? air con on? I have someone coming in to empty the dehumidifiers once a day.

the dehumidifiers take care of the mould. i would just keep everything shut and the dehumidifier on all the time. also, no point opening windows if the dehumidifier is on.

As an addition to the dehumidifiers, I would recommend you get the little dehumidifying "pots" and put them in clothes drawers and closets. You can find them at the supermarket. They help a lot.
BTW many dehumidifiers have a provision for attaching a hose. This bypasses the tank. You can then run the hose to a drain (for example in a shower). That way it never needs to be emptied and can run constantly without attention.
I will chime in and say keep the windows closed and leave the aircon off. It might be a bit stuffy when you get back but with dehumidifiers on there are no real issues.

When we leave for summer vacation, we leave all room doors open and also open all wardrobe doors and any drawers with items that may mold. Anything leather seems to attract mold, so things like belts and shoes are cleaned carefully before we leave. We put the little plastic dehumidifer boxes inside wardrobes/cupboards.
Make sure you clean out your fridge too.
