why do taxi drivers have 4 or more mobiles?

I've seen many taxi drivers with 4 or even more mobile phones. Most are usually one particular Nokia model. Why is this and what is special about that Nokia. I assume they want one phone for business and one for personal, but that's just 2 phones...

These taxis are operating a discount fare system. These drivers have different phones for different calls from different discount operators. To gain a discount you will have a phone number and the taxi will come out. He will probably have his own phone and 2 or 3 more for a different scheme/operator.

If you want the discount just ask for a business card. Nokia is HK's favourite phone brand. He probably got a deal for them.

Interestingly, you will probably see an old cloth next to the phones. He will cover the phones when police are in the area. My taxi last week was pulled over (right hand lane issues) and before he got out, he covered the phones with the cloth.
