Weekend Advice

Hi, I need advice for a weekend excersion.

My Mother is coming to Hong Kong to stay with me from NZ for 2.5 weeks and I'd like to take her somewhere for a weekend to break up the trip a little. She's early 60's & not really active i.e. hiking trips etc would not be suitable. I'd like somewhere interesting, not too much hard work & not too expensive. Can anyone suggest anywhere?

Many thanks.

Seems a tough one. A weekend away may well be too expensive (flights, hotels, transfers etc) and a visit to the Mainland too difficult (assuming you're an Expat). A weekend in Macau isn't really interesting, unless you enjoy a flutter or walking. A weekend on Star Aquarius might work but the 2/3 nighter rather than the 24 hour gambling cruise (not sure if you also need a China visa for the longer trip). A weekend on one of the Islands doesn't sound great unless you're into walking, which seems off the agenda. What about a few local day trips instead? Easy walk around the Peak, trip to Disco Bay/Lamma, the Bird Sanctuary, day in Macau, trip to Sai Kung etc?
