Washlet (electronic bidet)

Are these available in HK? For those who don’t know what they are it’s basically an electronic bidet which replaces the toilet seat. Japanese invention and most (if not all) public toilets in Japan have them equipped (as well as hotels etc). Example here: http://www.sal.net.au/?gclid=CML7l9yH0pQCFSY1agod6SG0lQ

Thanks.

I'm sure they are since Parkview has them in the serviced apartments. They have the Toto brand.

Your best bet is probably to walk up and down Lockhart Road in Wan Chai. You'll hit dozens of bathroom stores in a few hundred meters.

In addition to axptguy's reply, you can also find them in large Japanese dept stores like Jusco, Apita/UNY and maybe even Sogo. They can provide installation as well.

That's excellent. Thanks for the replies. Even though I thought they were weird when they were first introduced to Japan about 7 years ago I have grown to love them.

They're great until your daughter adjusts the knobs to "ice cold" and "lance of water cutting into soft tissue". OUCH! ;)

Any idea what price they run? In Australia they are pretty rare so they cost about 1 to 5k AUD. In Japan they ranged from 30k to 100k JPY.

In HK, I tried IZEN bidet online shop, it was quite good at installation and post-sales services.

I decided against the bidet since the toilet water looks pretty dirty (someone told me its basically seawater). Dont want that spraying on my privates thanks very much!

You seem like most hk people who mis-understood what bidet is. It can use only plain water. The sea water flushing system in HK is unrelated totally. The plain water source is normally from the water sink. (not from the toilet). The installation might be complicated, but it's all done by the technician.

I did not know that. The reason we think that is that the washlets in Japan and Australia use the flush water - which in Japan is freshwater and Australia either freshwater or gray water.

Thanks for the info.
