Hi all,

For those American living in Hong Kong - need some answer regarding voting while living oversea -

I have already registered as absentee vote with New York state 4 years ago since I moved to Shanghai; but now i moved to Hong Kong. How do I change the address? With the embassy? Is it too late now? To receive absentee ballet.

Let me know. Thanks.

There's no embassy in HK since it is not a national capital. There's a consulate though. Call them and ask.

BTW it's "ballot".

Visit the NY State government website, you should find detailed instructions on absentee ballot procedures. Elections are managed by local and State governments. (Embassy/consulates are branches of the federal government, they may not be much help.) If your home county website is well developed, you should be able to change the address online. If not, you may have to write to the county election board. 3 months should be plenty of time.
