Does anyone know of a Notary here in HCMC other than the US Embassy? They are charging astronomical fees for this minor service.

We can provide the notary service. The charge is HK$400 per signature and HK$750 if apostille is required. This apply to Hong Kong's matter but if the document is required to send outside Hong Kong, additional charge will be incurred.

Crumbs, that sounds a lot of money. I need to get my signature witnessed by a notary for a document that needs to be sent overseas. No papers to read - just one little signature to be witnessed. Will this cost me HK$400 plus the 'additional charge'?

If you just require your signature to be witnessed by a notary....... go to your local home affairs office and they do it for free.

Just arrive with your documents and fill in an application and declaration, wait your turn and all will be witnessed in a space of a few minutes.

Very few people know this service is free unless there are recent changes that I am unaware of.

Check it out!

No, not the British Embassy in Central.

I am talking about the Hong Kong local Home Affairs Department. Most district has an office. Check out your local office.
