How many HONG KONG dollars will the HSBC or Bank of China accept to exchange (buy) into Chinese Yuan at any one time? I'm thinking about exchanging $100,000 ?

What kind of commission am I likely to pay for this service as I only have a normal savings account with these banks?

Usually restricted to RBM20,000 per day. That's a China restriction, not the banks.
