Maybe Mr Jinks???
It's a bit hard to find a trap with a sping loaded draw-bar though, you will have to visit a few hardware stores. Try baiting it with peanut butter, you will have better results.
Don't waste your time with those box traps that just close a door behind the mouse. No self-respecting mouse will enter it. Just go for the good old neck breaker, BANG, and it is good night!
Poison is okay but in HK the poison is really strong and I wouldn't like it with a toddler. The other trouble with poison is the mouse goes somewhere to die and you can't find him until you can smell him.

Agreed with bob the builder. Mouse trap. Just put it somewhere your toddler can't get to it.

I suggest you look for sticky paper fly trap. Put the trap where you see the mouse passing. I think this is the simple way to trap a mouse.

This is a little inhumane. I know it is a mouse and all of that, but the mouse will tear skin off its feet and tail trying to escape. Not too sure how you would explain it to a child when he/she sees it skirming to get away. The mice don't always die with sticky paper.
Then who is going to kill it? or do you take it for a drive into the country?

Fly trap is what ive'd used when I got mouse in my place and it works. As soon it was trapped I fold the paper and bashed it with broom. Mouse trap didnt work out for it takes too long to trap the mouse and the stench of urine and rat droppings is what i cant take.
Inhumane it is... But is it you or the mouse?('_')

Mouse traps take too long? Not in my experience. Mice love peanut butter.
And I'd much rather the mouse trap kill the mouse than me. Sticky traps are pretty nasty.
