We have a problems with cockroaches and don't want to use pesticides because of small kids. Read about boric acid - does anyone know where to buy that in HK?

Don't know about boric acid.
However, the "Combat" traps/bait (sold at Wellcome etc...) work very well. They come with sticky strips or tape so you can easily mount them high up on the walls, out of small child reach. Also any poison stays in the traps (and in the roaches). No spraying or anything.
There's also an ant variant. And I noticed last time there was another brand that seemed very similar in construction.

Note that you may get more roaches for a few days since they are attracted to the bait. This is normal. After that the number should decrease.

Biocycle uses a safe spray for children and pets (warm blooed). You can buy boric acid at some of the phamacies that sell western medication. The packs are small though. I actually buy when I go home the large containers. I use biocycle and have three small children with three cats. Non e have ever gotten sick, you can always have them spray but not fog. Their formula is boric acid based. I buy the packets and spread the powder under my drawers.

U may buy them at dispensaries! I do know a dispensary named TACK LONG DISPENSARY in TST in kowloon. Add some milk in it and round like small gummies and throw them over to corners and areas u see these monsters!THEY WILL RUNWAY! Its an easier and safer way to get rid of 'em.
