Its available on line for free, It doesn't make a lot of sense to have a newspaper delivered to you daily which is a day late. If its just The Sunday edition, that makes more sense, but its not a cheap gift, surface mail is not that expensive, Air mail looks like it costs a fortune.

If I were you though I would look at the International Herald Tribune instead, which is owned by the New York Times so it features a lot of their content anyway, they have offices in Asia and Hong Kong, getting a subscription in a timely fashion is not going to be that expensive.

I agree with DG, have a subscription of IHT myself.

I do believe the IHT is virtually the same as the NY Times except that they remove the localized content for NY.

There used to be a place in Central where you could buy recycled newspapers from in-bound airlines. The cleaners apparently used to sell them, after cleaning the planes, and a reseller put them together - ironed them, for all I know - and sold them.

You used to be able to pick up almost any major British daily (the day after) from most of the newspaper vendors at the star ferry terminal in central and in TST when it was operating. Pity its gone.
