We just moved out of our apartment. We left the apartment in clean (not spotless but no debris of left behind) condition, with some scratches on the floor and some scratches on the walls and some parts of the wall where the paint came off.
Now the landlord wants to charge us for
1. scratches on the floor
2. repainting of the whole apartment
3. hiring a professional cleaner to clean
We argued wear and tear on the scratches on the floor and walls. There are no drawings or anything except of course the furnitures do make "dirt line". And as for paint chipping off, I really dont see that as our fault.
We do not have any deposits left with them as we talked to her husband about not paying the last 2 months rent. But now it is the wife doing all the checking since the husband is away on business trip. So actually, if we do not want to pay for it then she can just sue as her recourse but we just want to have nice endings rather than ugly ones so I would like to know what can be considered wear and tear or not.
This is actually a mean landlady as the apartment didnt come with lights or curtains and we left all the lights which is worth a couple of thousands and curtains in 1 room.
