hi
i am an australian student doing a double degree in bachelor of laws and creative industries (media and communication) and am taking a year off of studies in 2009. i will have completed my media and communication degree at the end of 2008. i am looking to move to hk for 2 or so months (i already have a place to stay) and wanting a job while i am there. where should i start looking re: visas and the like? as far as jobs go i am willing to do pretty much anything (other than hospitality if i can help it). i currently work in the financial industry with a company not found in hk therefore cannot ask to be transferred. any help would be much appreciated as i just need a starting point!
thanks

You need to sort a visa out first before you can do anything, there is a visa you can get as an Australian citizen who is a student which will allow you to work in Hong Kong for up to a year. I am not sure what it is called, if someone else does, hopefully they will post otherwise you will have to surf the immigration department website and see if you can find it.

But you absolutely need to sort the visa first before you can think about getting work.

thanks heaps! no problems re: the visa application but any tips and directions would be greatly appreciated in regards to jobs, as although i realise it is hard to try and lock in a job beforehand - i am sure it would be beneficial to try and do so, or more specifically just to see what kind of jobs are available! any help would again be greatly appreciated!
