I have never heard of a place with more than 10 years retention rule for personal records. However I don't know for HK.

Why bother asking here at all? Check with your accountant as you say! You should find it is 7 years, but why would you accept an Internet answer for important stuff like this. An email to Inland Revenue, if answer not on their website, will also work. Probably better than asking accountant who may make a mistake. :)

There you go. Answer = Not less than 7 years!

Don't forget to shred the old stuff. Who knows who may be looking through your garbage. ;)
