hi..... i can feel grain like bits in the pamper diaper i m using for my boy. i tear open the diaper surface cotton, and found salt/sugar like grain inside the cotton. i know the salt like grain is with the purpose of soaking up pee, and soften when i put water. but when i called pamper hotline, they said it is not normal to feel it. but..i quickly bought another pack from another supermarket and found the same thing. i used Pampers Dry and Active Baby. lots of salt grain like, but not the 'Comfort' pack i bought.

Is it concern on toddler skin?

Our 27mos. old boy has been using both the Pampers Active Fit and Pull Ups but we've never noticed this. It's just jelly-like after use, but then again we never tore apart the diaper to see the inside.

We also use them and have not noticed this. Sounds like a bad batch..

You can also get the US versions of Pampers at Gateway. "Active Fit" is called "Cruisers" in North America.

We have used the Active Fit ones for some time now but have never noticed it before. Though just out of sheer curiosity I will open one up this weekend and have a look!

Is there a reason why one version would be better than the other? We use the European version for night time (Baby Dry) and have found it holds a lot more.

Axptguy38 - could I ask how much the US versions cost? Didn't know they were available in HK. Would love to compare and see if it will save us a few $$

there are some UK ones as well in B2B - we get those for the nights as they tend to be better than localy made ones.. prob about 2 times the price of the local ones i think?

"Axptguy38 - could I ask how much the US versions cost?"

I called Gateway and asked but the guy seemed confused. He said the boxes of Cruisers ("Active Fit") cost 500 Honkies but I am pretty sure I saw them for 335. This is for a box 140 size 4s (a touch larger than a HK "L").

At Wellcome I think you get a 2-pack (92 diapers) of "L" for 195.

That works out to 2.11 Honkies for the HK variant at Wellcome and 3.57 Honkies for the US variant at Gateway. If they cost 335 like I thought that works out to 2.39 Honkies. Best thing would be to go check in person.

Having used both variants, I must say the US ones have a slightly better fit, at least on our kids. But given the difference in price we still go with the HK ones.

Now if we could only find Huggies Overnites on the Island. Or some decent alternative. My #2 wakes up all wet half the time...

Axpatguy38 - Thanks for that. Will go down and check it out.

Idsllvn - Yes, we use the B2B ones. They are 139 for a pack of 34, so yes, double!

If only all the people we knew gave diapers as gifts rather than clothes my child only ever gets to wear a couple of times before she is on the next size...or silly toys which only occupy more space.

Will probably still go with the imported ones for the night as it has worked well for us all these months.

Haha no kidding! The average child uses 5000 diapers. Get 500 from a few people and you're golden.
