is it worth it ? ( size does matter here )

where can I can A discount brand new sony laptop . they sales ppl in fortress told me that sony never on sale , is that true ? and the sale item is only the damage display model .

Don't know about the price. Depends very much on the spec.
There are stores that stock new Sony laptops in the Wan Chai Computer Centre. With regards to discount ing, HK is not the best place for "pure" discounts. However, they are normally more than happy to throw in more memory and things like that for the same price.
For small laptops, you might also take a look at the ThinkPad X Series laptops. Very small, light, and also very durable. In my opinion Thinkpad beats Sony hands down. Just my opinion though.
You can also buy second hand laptops, some barely used, in the Wan Chai Computer Centre. The prices are excellent and they give a 90 day warranty. There are two stores on the upper floor.

I got a new TZ in Wanchai Computer Centre about 9 months ago. Don't recall the price (or particular shop) but they threw in an extra meg of RAM rather than discount the price. I don't see the Sony shop doing this so somewhere like WCC might be your best bet. It came with Windows Vista but perhaps I should have gone for an older Windows as it can be fairly slow. Good enough for my purposes, very light, excellent screen and battery life for DVD watching and of course, looks way cooler than the Dells/IBMs most business folk have!

Sony tries to be the Apple of the laptop world, with (in my opinion) only very moderate success.

Vista is not in itself slower than XP if you don't turn on all the bells and whistles (with the possible exception of file copies). On a newish machine you should hardly notice the difference unless you have a shortcoming in a certain area. Under Computer Properties you can check the "Windows Experience Index" to see if a certain area is bringing the whole system down.

Since I saw one display in Harbour city branch and it sold very quickly and the stuff told me they don't have any more display model , then I tried Mongkok branch . sometimes u can always rely on the staff Information .
