You could also try Hakuba, Nagano, which is very nice. We were there in mid-March this year, which was coming towards the end of season.

We booked an apartment called Alpine Azumi Deluxe Apartment, which was very comfortable. Try Ski Japan Holidays, website www.japanspecialists.com, email bookings@japanspecialists.com. If you need lessons, try tours@evergreen-outdoors.com (if you don't, fine!)

I was introduced to The Niseko Company www.thenisekocompany.com and used them to find accommodation last season in Niseko. This company have some fantastic accommodation -really luxuriuos. They also arranged everything for my group-transfers, tickets, lessons, rentals and food etc...highy recommend them

A great time of year to come to niseko is in late feb early march. We stayed at Gondola Chalets ( http://www.gondolachalets.com/ ) last time and will be back again!

Hakuba is a great destination for skiing in Japan. I'll prepare a separate post with more information on it.

However in the meantime I'd recommend that you check out Hakuba Luna Hotel (www.hakubalunahotel.com). It's comfortable and really close to one of the lifts (the Sakka chairlift). It tends to book out relatively early because it is so well located and popular.

If you're looking for 5 star then this place is not for you but if you're looking for somewhere that's about 3.5 star with great service and in a fantastic location, then I'd highly recommend it. There are plenty of reviews of Hakuba Luna Hotel on Tripadvisor.com.

You can check out Rusutsu Hotel Resort. It is locally run and the resort is massive and affordable. My friends say that the snow skiing is fantastic. I am here for golf during summer season and it is comfortable - not luxurious like Hyatt Niseko. Onsen is good too and the management is top class. Rooms are clean and comfortable.
