I am kicking myself for missing the opening ceremony.
Anyone know if there will be a replay on any of the channels or if the ceremony is already available on VCD?
I suspect there are probably some online streaming sites that might have it, but I have an ancient computer configuration.
thanks

I missed it too, and I'd like to get my hands on a HD DVD of the opening ceremony. If they'd knock out a really good quality one, with profits helping toward the re-building of Schezwan, say, I'd happily buy some at HKD200/300+ each for me plus family and friends who also didn't get to see it. But I have to say I wouldn't be interested in watching a single second of the actual sports.

'But I have to say I wouldn't be interested in watching a single second of the actual sports".
Pray...why? Would be interested to know the reason.

because some people find it a complete yawn. I know I do, I have no interest in watching horse riding judo, track and field, women soccer swimming or weightlifting, synchronised swimming, diving or any of the other Olympic sports. I never watch those sports ordinarily, I don't know anything about them, I am not going to start watching them now just because it happens to be the Olympics. The only interest I might have had was watching the team gymnastic event and even then not for the sport itself because I know jack about it, but more because I was aware of the rivalry between the US and China and I would have been interested in seeing them compete. The only Olympic sport where I have some awareness and know who the athletes are and can tell you something about the sport is the tennis, and though I might be interested in watching the matches, personally speaking in the grand scheme of things it is not the most important event in the tennis world.

DB...you've got your point quite clearly. Everybody is entitled in choosing what they want or like to watch. I will even understand that some people who don't watch the game at all.
But frankly, even out of curiosity, people will turn on the channels to see some sports, either for the performance or the result, therefore I am amazed when Thames wrote he/she would not be interested in watching a single second of the actual game but at the same time very keen on getting the DVD for the opening ceremony! Quite contradictary.

Personally I wasn't interested in the opening ceremony either, but after hearing the reviews I wish I had caught a little of it now just to see what the fuss was all about. So I can see his point of view, he might have zero interest in sports, but you don't need to have that to appreciate a ceremony do you??
