Frequent Fevers

I have a 15 month old who has been getting a fever about every 2-3 weeks since april. the fevers get as high as 40 and last anywhere from 4-7 days. i give him Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen which helps and otherwise he has no other systems and when the fever is under control he is happy and playful.


the doctor keeps say it is just a virus he has picked up from other kids at playgroup.


anybody else with the same experience?

Some kids get viruses, and react with fevers, quite often. Some kids (like our #2), get coughs every few weeks. This typically clears out as they get older.


Fevers are not a bad thing in themselves. They are a way for the body to combat viruses and bacteria.
