ORIGINAL POST

Desperately looking for black school shoes (loafers or lace-ups) for my two kids (boy size 37 and girl size 40). Footstop seems to have gone out of business and I found nothing at Marks & Spencer or Wing On. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Dr Kong stock school shoes. Shoe Street (Exit E2 on the MTR) in Mong Kok (can't remember name of street, but past ladies market and computer centre), there are loads of stores down there. They also have Clarks which is by far the best shoes for kids. Good Luck

Nearly every shoe shop in HK has some school shoes. Yue hwa does some. I get mine from a shop in the flower market called poshing shoe co. There are several shops down Temple st, many in Mong kok, one in Parkes street Jordan.

Thanks again, everyone. Will set out this morning and check out your recommendations. But my kids' feet are not exactly kid-size. Do you think I'll be able to find sizes 37 and 40 at these places?

In Lee Gardens Two I am pretty sure. At least in the big shoe store at the end.

Can I please barge in and ask about Lee Gardens? Where is this shopping centre and what shops do they have there?

It's in southern Causeway Bay, east of Times Square. The two parts are connected by a short indoor footbridge crossing Yun Ping Road.

Lee Gardens (One) has some exclusive clothing shops, a Pacific Coffee and a nice supermarket called Gourmet in the basement (sort of a mini-CitySuper). Lee Gardens Two (AKA "Caroline Centre") is chock full of children's stores, including Mothercare, Seed, Chicco, KingKow... Most are on the same floor (2nd IIRC) except Mothercare on 3rd. There is also Magic Mirror, a good place for kid's haircuts (horses to sit on, TVs with Sesame Street...)

I'm sure they will, my son just got a nice pair of school shoes in Mong Kok yesterday for $260 and he's a UK 9.

Would anyone know where to find the Rhino brand school shoes? Footstop use to have them. Dr Kong have very limited choice for teenager girls.
