got a few family members arriving in town in a couple of weeks and am looking for a private car & driver to transport them from the airport to my house. Anyone know of a company?

Farrington Amex is one. Not the cheapest but they have a desk in the airport limo lounge so pick-up logistics are dead simple. Worked fine for us every time. http://www.amextravel.com.hk/limo/index.asp . Some of the agents will tell you it's only for AmEx card holders. Hang up and try again (or email again). The next agent will have no issues taking your money. ;)
If you live on the Island and they have little luggage the Airport Express + Taxi is the easiest option IMHO.

www.regentlimo.com.hk - We have not used them as yet, but will for when we go to the airport next holiday. They do everything from sedan to mini-bus. Their rates seem quite good.

I used Farringtons last year to meet and greet some guests as I wasn't sure if I'd get to the airport in time for their flight arrival, and the experience left me quite a bit poorer but also with the distinct feeling that they clearly didn't understand the fundamentals of meeting someone at an airport. The driver was supposed to be holding a placard with their names on it but he didn't, and when I turned up, met my friends and eventually, after many phone calls, found the driver wondering about Arrivals I asked him where it was. He pulled out of his pocket a crumpled piece of paper he'd torn from a notebook with my guests' names handwritten in about a size 12 font. That was the placard...
Also, when I'd made the telephone booking I had asked Farringtons what my guests should do if they could not find the driver and was told that they should shout wait outside a fast food shop, but that shop had actually closed a year before.
Maybe it was a one-off, but I was not very impressed with their service.

That is unfortunate Thames. My experiences have been good (placard and all, although they do also tell you to go to their desk). However I have only used them 2-3 times so I can't say I have any sort of meaningful sample to draw any conclusions from. Maybe I was just lucky. ;)
I have only used email booking. They sent me a detailed map showing where to go in the airport (dead easy) and in any case there was a greeter there.
