I want to start a business that involves writing a new computer program, but I have no idea how to go about doing that. Does anyone have any experience in computer programming or know of a company or person in HK that can create something from scratch? It would be hugely helpful if they knew anything about recording music, although it's not a priority while I'm still figuring out HOW to find a programmer.
On a personal note, I can't help but be a little nervous about ideas, info or software being stolen. Of course that's normal paranoia that comes with an idea you want to protect, but it wouldn't be the first time it happened. I'm definitely looking for someone trustworthy.

My friend used an outfit in India to do the work. Quite good quality apparently. However you need to have a very detailed specification before you begin. Write down EVERYTHING.
Also, before you write a new program, make sure there isn't a current one that can be easily adapted/licensed. It tends to be cheaper to have someone else do the bug hunting.
