Same thing happened to me when I was pregnant. Parts of my neck turned dark as well. I believe this condition happens only during pregnancy cause a few weeks after I gave birth the pigmentation went away.

Maybe you shouldn't get adventurous with products that might harm your baby's health while pregnant.... just to lift you arms and that'll be fine....
anyway, everyone will be looking at your baby bump, not at your underams, so relax & enjoy pregnancy !
