Anyone done the Star Flyer cruise out of Phuket? If so, did you book it in HK or elsewhere? Toying with the idea of a cruise for the New Year (probably booked up already) but can't find a HK agent.
Plan B might be cycling tour for 5 days or so around Thailand, preferably an easy/luxury version. Can anyone recommend a trip/company? We rather like the idea of cycling from BKK to Vientiane in Laos - possibly with a lot of driving if the distance is too great. But other trips might be great as well.

Spiceroads organise brilliant cycling tours in SE Asia. Have done one in Thailand and another in Vietnam and was delighted with both.

Thank you both. I will look them up. We did a bespoke cycling tour in Laos - going from LP north up to near the China border and then west to the Mekong. A crazy mortorised surfboard down the Mekong then took us to a border point in Northern Thailand. A brilliant experience though I'd probably skip the Mekong trip if we did it again - that was very scary. My wife tended to get in the accompanying van for the many uphill parts...well, so did I for most of them. We used Exostismo in Vientiene (but they're a regional company). We just popped in and asked what they could that week.
