Hi, could anyone give some advice on headaches. I never had a headache until my baby was born. He is now 2 years old. Everytime my menstruation starts I have severe headache that lasts 2 - 3 days. Even headache medicines don't work. Somebody help!

HK medication system doesnot work for me. I always end up getting just headache pills.

A few hours nap!U could also try a neck exercise 5-7 mins everyday turning clock and anti-clock wise direction. It's interconnected, just in case if u'r wondering how.

I had the same after a child. Regular basis would be really helpful!

Another suggestion-one of the yoga exercise is to stand upside down, with ur head toughing on the ground and ur feet up in the air, attached to the wall will make it easier for u. This will help smooth blood circulation upto ur head. Try this a few minutes everyday. I am pretty sure, u'll b out of this without any medication.

If it last lasts 2-3 days may even be a migraine. You should consult with a doctor as well. Sometimes a fluctuation in hormone levels may trigger a headache.

Lots of migraines medication is different, acting on different types of migraines - I sent you a PM - you may have to try a few to see what works for you?

Try drinking a concoction of apple cider vinegar (ACV) (2tbs) and honey (2tbs) in hot water. Its not pleasant, but a lot of people like me who have migraines take ACV everyday to prevent bad headaches.

headache starting after menstruation may be due to some hormonal changes :P

If its persistent, you need to go to your doctor.

Sounds like a migraine to me. I get them too and I am sure that for me they are linked to menstruation - I didn't have any while I was pregnant but they returned after the baby was born. I would second the above advice to see a doctor. I have migraine medication which works to reduce the swelling of the blood vessels in the brain (which cause a migraine) and they work well. My dr recommended that I try panadol/nurofen first and if it doesn't work (and I have my other usual symptoms of nausea etc) then to use the migraine drugs.

I have severe headache after give birth to my first daughter. I think our body changed so. I tried many kind of exercise. Drinking different kind of medicine, counselling etc. But the one who cure me was bowen theraphy. I study massage theraphy & Keinesology in the U.S & one of my teacher suggested me to try bowen & from that time i'm free for my heachache. & I avoid drinking coffee esp. the decaf.for some reason i got headache & can not sleep if I drink in the day.

You also can do some breathing excersice it also help. But don't forget to be happy always....Happy with in...

I have the same problem - never have headache or migraines before but after giving birth to my daughter I get migraine (lasting 2 -3 days) around the time of my period. I take Chinese herbs for it and as long as I take it I am migraine free and I can go about 2 months without the herbs but no longer, otherwise the migraine will be back.

i got migraine eversince I was on my 20's it get worse after I gave birth with my child, I went CT Scan in case something wrong, but the result is ok, I undergo some simple psychological asessment in case I got some post partum signs.....all good, then the doctor said maybe sometimes its a result of some stress we undergo as a mom, I got mild pain killer to ease the pain everytime I have it and it helps after the medicine make me sleep, normally it occurs before and after my period. It never stop.

Normally what I do, I try to get some sleep when I feel it pain, it helps a lot though.
