What will happen if the person can't pay his credit card anymore?

I have a friend and she just lost her job? and been out of job for about 3 months now...

Can she hide from them???? I don't think so, but I'm not sure thats why I'm asking here so that I can give her a good and workable advise.

Although, its really very hard for her to pay for it.....
