Hi, if anyone's working in those 2 firms, can you let us know what the situation for employees is? What about expats?
If you are not working there, but hear something, please let me know - I'm drawing up a few plans and may change them if there're good folks from those 2 firms. Thanks.

Lehman employees - currently out of a job and better start looking now.
Merrill employees - will be out of a job soon (whether or not the buyout is approved) and also should start looking but not as immediate as Lehman.
I was a takeover victim when Nationsbank last ventured on these shores.

i would not write off the Merrill employees quite yet, Lehman maybe, but not Marrill, i would wait and see, fingers crossed they might be ok...

Lehman - situation is much better now, Nomura's purchase means all employees (inc. expats) have a job, for now at least.
No idea about merrill
