I too have not heard of this. Is there a reason you couldn't buy Aussie chicken already packaged and sent over? They have Lilydale at Taste (damned expensive), so we buy ours at TC Deli in Hang Hau.

I personally would be reluctant to buy chicken (even aussie) that has been slaughtered here as you don't know what the hygiene standards are like. Far safer to buy prepackaged directly.

Lilydale is available in Taste. You can buy either breast, thigh or whole chicken and it's fresh, not frozen. I can't remember exactly how much it is, but it's bloody expensive compared to what we pay back home.

We used to buy Lilydale at Taste until we found TC Deli who also stock australian chicken and we have found the quality to the same if not better in some instances. It is however, frozen, but we have not had a problem in all the time we have been buying from them. Just go into Taste and have a look at the price and decide if you want to pay the price.

I will buy Lilydale if we run out of chicken and can't get to Hang Hau. I never buy local poultry.
