We have recently rennovated an apartment in HK. Since begining the project we have lost complete trust in our builder. I would like to have a professional review the changes that have been made to see if they comply with standard practices. I've been searching on line for hours to find an engineer or other who would be qualified to review the work but I haven't found anyone yet.


HAs anyone out there been through a similar experiencein HK or have any advice on how to proceed?


Greatly appreciate any words of wisdom.

I suggest that you either contact a 'Building Surveyor' (see HK Institute of Surveyors web for qualified ones) or hire an 'Authorised Person' (a licensed professional who could be a Building Surveyor, Architect etc) with the Buildings Department able to provide a list of APs. The AP is perhaps more applicable to deal with 'code' issues ie structural or space usage type issues rather than finish quality or contract or schedule issues.
