If I didn't want to shop at Ikea any other recommendations? In particular domestic made stuff as opposed to imported stuff (wood is wood and steel is steel generally. Don't think source matters a great deal).
Thanks.

IMO Pricerite furniture is not the best quality. You could try GOD for some cool styles

Out of interest, any suggestions on a place that will do curtains/blinds? That is come and give a quote and then do the installation?
Horizon Plaza as well for curtains?
Thanks.

I had curtains made from a curtain company in Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok. They came out, measured and i went into their store and picked out the fabric. Very reasonable price and Kevin (who I dealt with) spoke perfect English.
Fa Yuen Street have many curtain shops and I have been quite happy with the company I went with. Even when my daughter broke the cord for our roller blinds, Kevin sent a guy around with a new cord free of charge.
I'm sure you can perhaps get absolute top notch perfection from somewhere else, but so far we have been more than happy and have been back to Jumbo Deco a few times. let me know if you want the number and I will dig it out.

Hi neenib, can you please let me hv the number of the shop? I need some curtains and blinds to be tailor made in my flat.
Solomani, dont quite understand your original thread but similar to Ikea, I would like to suggest Spotlight in Megabox (household stuff and curtains and blinds) and B&Q.

Can I please have the contact details of Kevin from JUMBO DECO too? Thanks.

Hi, the details for Jumbo Deco, 176 Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok, 2308 1989. Kevin is the man to speak to. If he isn't there, the ladies there speak enough English to take your details and pass the message on.

Thanks for the contact details, Neenib, I'm also interested. I'm assuming that being located in Mong Kok the price of your curtains was much cheaper than going to the Queen's Road East shops. Is that right?

I have not been curtain shopping in Central, but I reckon I could confidently say that it would be cheaper in Mong Kok. Having said that, the quality might not be that of Central, but I have been very very happy with what we have purchased.
We had roman blinds (all with double bockout) in 3 bedrooms, roller blinds x 2 in the lounge area and all up everything came to around $8K, that was quote, material, labour and installation.
I then had some fabulous curtains put in my baby's room, which a great wrap around bracket and one giant curtain to go around two windows with full blockout and that was only $3K!
