Booked a trip to Cebu for end of October at
Shangri-La Mactan...If anybody has been there and
have any feedback for the hotel or the surrounding

Been there for my honeymoon, excellent place to stay. They've got their own beach and the resturant next to the beach is soooooo gooodddd. Free shutter bus to a mall which you should spend at least half a day there and maybe have lunch or dinner too (don't stay at the hotel to eat so much!) oh watch out for those Phillipine candies!! YUMMY!! I really want to go AGAIN!!! but is a bit out of my budget now. :(

The hotel was one of the nicer ones in Cebu. You should make a day trip to see the chocolate hills.

Been to a small island near Cebu city for my honeymoon and stayed in Montenello Villa Hotel for one night, a spanish style villa, has nice garden, two swimming pools and free breakfast. Great experience there. Lot of restaurants outside of the hotel. A buffet only costs 5 dollars at discounted hours. Seafood and fruit desserts are amazing.

I don't know why anyone would go to Cebu considering there are so many other better choices.
The beaches are dead coral so not suitable for swimming. Cebu City has nothing to offer, it's a decrepit second tier city.
If you want to go to a nice resort and stay around the pool the Gold Coast Hotel in Hong Kong is just as good.
Boracay is so much better. Cannot compare
