Can someone give me an idea of how much it would cost to buy & install a portable room with a window, can fit a double bed & fitted with air conditioner? Would install on a back terrace or roof top.
We are looking to move but most of the places we've seen have 3 beds plus outdoor space. We don't have people visit that much but when they do come, it's for 3-4 weeks at a time, so sofabed in living room is not practical and the kids rooms would be too small for a double bed.

In HK you cannot increase your actual habitable area or build a structure without formal approval (and you probably won't get approval to increase the total floor area). If Building Department knew about the 'illegal structure' you would be forced to remove it so although many people do add-on you need to be aware of the potential problem.
