Bali or Malaysia for family holiday?

We have a wedding to attend in Kuala Lumpur on 20th December and had originally intended on booking a villa in Bali on 21st December for a week but are hearing the weather is very rainy at that time of year. Has anyone been to Bali around Christmas time?

So, we are looking for a reasonable option in Penang or Langkawi - has anyone got any ideas? or do you know someone with a holiday home for rental?

Our travelling party is 4 adults - including the grandparents and 2 children aged 3 and 11 months.

HELP!!! I know stuff is getting booked up really fast.

Thanks

Kota Kinabalu is beautiful. We have been once and going again - in 7 days. Our daughter is 3 yrs old. Loves the pool and so much more. Langkawi is beautiful as well, but more to do in KK. Queenstowner's apartment is very nice, will keep it mind for our next visit to KK.

We have decided to go to Phuket this time - it works for our family and we were able to get decent accomodation

Have to do Bali and KK and Penang and Langkawi another time for sure. Definitely want to check out the villa in KK next year so expect a PM from me.

Great choice! I was just about to post and ask, Why not Phuket?

The beaches are cleaner, the Thai food is wonderful, and the day trips out to Phi Phi and Phang Nga are absolutely brilliant!

Please, try the huge Pacific oysters! Hubby and I salivate at the memory of oysters in Phuket!

Yeah, Bali actually is a beatiful place to visit. As GreenValleys said that the security is the main concern specially after the "trio" been executed recently...
