Which add-on? What do you mean "disabled"?

Blocking websites can be done with the add-on "Adblock Plus" for Mozilla.

I installed foxfilter but there is a disable button in the toolbar which can turn off the foxfilter( not uninstall) temporary. As such, it's useless. What is this adblock plus and how do I do it?

Thanks

I was mistaken, sorry. You can't disable web pages in Adblock Plus. It does very effectively block ads though. You can get Adblock Plus from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Procon Latte enables you to whitelist sites, and if you turn on the right-click block feature you can blacklist links (and thus sites). https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1803

It is more on parental control that I am interested in. Blocking unsuitable sites for children. Any ideas what free software I can use.

Thanks

The above mentioned FF add-on Procon Latte has a smut filter that seems pretty good.
