Any suggestion or advice for first time car purchase?
Should I buy a new or used car? Any other fees/expenses that I need to factor in before buying. And for used car, where can i find a good bargin?

We did a fair bit of research (looking at the AsiaXPAT ads and checking out the big used car showroom in Wanchai) and came to the conclusion that fairly new second hand cars were not much cheaper than brand new cars. We ended up buying a new RAV4 but also considered a mini (overpriced, to small in the back), Golf GTI (not as much oomph as we expected for the money and strange paddle gears), Toyota Prius (yawn...). RAV4 came with 5 year warranty and free licensing.
Position may well be different if looking at older cars or different price ranges.
