Generally, under the Common Law and Statutory Law of Hong Kong such as the Parent and Child Ordinance, a father is obliged to contribute the expense of his child's living taking into consideration, inter alia, the means of the paying parent and the reasonable needs of the child.

Kasasia, you may be eligible for Legal Aid. They have a means test formula when they calculate if you're eligible for their aid. If you do not have much money, you may only be asked to make a token contribution towards the legal costs, usually $1,000.
