Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could confirm what the going tax rates for foreigners working in China are.
I am asking this as my tax for October has more than doubled from what I paid in October.
Has the rate increased?
Anybody else notice this, or am I special?!

Foreigners could be subject to different rules depending on the circumstances - whether you work for a Chinese employer, or an overseas employer, whether you have stayed over 5 years, 1 year, 90 days or 30 days in a year...
Some foreigners pay taxes according to the days they stay in China. Then the tax they pay for the first month could be very different with that in the second month.
There is no rate increase recently - the rate has always been high, in fact China is considering lowering the taxes
Depending on how much you earn, the rate can be 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%...
