We will very soon. With the double flu season in HK, it's good to wait until mid November so that the protection carries forward.

For the very young and the very old the flu can be dangerous, so in those cases it is highly recommended. Otherwise it isn't absolutely necessary but my kids getting the flu is not high on my list of "fun parenting experiences". I'd rather spare them and myself that pain. I'm going to get jabbed as well, just like every year.

how old is your child - mine are 2.5 and are still dont really feel like they are old enough to have the jab, but thats just me - so, no, not giving them one. In fact not getting one myself this year either - had them a couple years running and they did NOTHING! still got flew every year... :(

You can still get the flu, but typically if you have the shot the symptoms are much reduced.
As for age of the children, it is younger children that are more at risk since their bodies are not as strong.

My doc recommended the shot for my daughter who is only 10 months -old. I thought this was far too young too. Would it help to get the jab?

Not too young no. Young children are especially vulnerable to diseases like the flu. While an adult or an older child might be able to deal with it, the fly can be dangerous for young toddlers. It is MORE important to vaccinate young children and the elderly since their bodies are ill equipped to handle fly symptoms.
