Nov 6th- the (rather crap) tree is already up in our apartment lobby! Ridiculous or what? Can anyone beat this?

Our local Park n shop has a few decorations up. Normally its much more low key here, and often the major decorations in shopping centres don't go up till early dec. Its much less in your face than the UK.
that saying, I did go and buy my xmas cards yesterday..overheard a woman in the shop who said she has already written, stamped and addressed hers.

That is a bit early, but as cd says it's not "that bad" here. The US goes overboard in November and stays there until New Year. ;)

well, they put up trees in Prince's building about a month ago - i nearly fell over with shock - that would have been v early Oct. I think then they figured out that they messed up and took them down the next day - hysterical!

When I lived in the Philippines, radio stations commenced Christmas jingles in August. Waaaaaaay too many glad tidings.

Christmas deco are up in the Kowloon Bay shopping centre as well. They are also putting up the Christmas tree at Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong. I think it's just a way of trying to get shoppers to spend without feeling guilty ;-)
