How would one get one's hands on two tickets to this historic event?

I can trade an AsiaXPAT 2009 Mouse Pad, an AsiaXPAT ball cap and I'll get you a couple of nights at a 5 star resort in Asia... I will also name my first born after you.

I actually saw them being advertised I think on the obama website., I am pretty sure I saw an advert somewhere, it was either there or on moveon. I didnt click through, I was pretty certain it wasnt for tickets on stage, or anywhere remotely near the principals, so it didn't really interest me, but I did take note of the ad.

Yeah I didn't think it would last long, I saw the ad though, so a few should have been available when I saw them, perhaps they became available as I was cruising either of those sites and were gone in an instant, it was a couple days after the election.

I can't imagine it is very easy getting your hands on inauguration tickets for any president, though my mate who went to Georgetown said he saw Clinton inaugurated when he was at college, I don't know if he held a ticket or was in the vicinity. I wonder what a ticket entitles you to. For mere mortals I would be very surprised if you were anywhere near telescopic range of Obama.

I tried to help though ed, if you really want too, you can still name your first born after me.

Perhaps if we got word to the right people that we would be featuring photos on Ed's Adventures that might help?

I think calling my first born Digital Blonde might expose him/her to some difficult questions....

Right Ed. You can call your first born 'That One'. Much more interesting. Although by the time he/she is at primary school everyone will have forgotten who That One was. :)

WASHINGTON—The US senator overseeing President-elect Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony said Monday she is writing to Internet sites like eBay asking them not to sell scalped inauguration tickets.

Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein also said she is crafting a bill that would make a federal crime of selling tickets to the historic event Jan. 20.

Feinstein, who chairs the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, said she foresees overwhelming demand for the 240,000 available tickets and has heard reports they may be sold for as much as $40,000 online.

The tickets are supposed to be free to the public and distributed through congressional offices

hey ed, guess you have to go to take a trip to get a ticket...

"The public should also be aware that no website or other ticket outlet actually has inaugural swearing-in tickets to sell, regardless of what they may claim. Tickets will not be distributed to Congressional offices until the week before the inauguration and will require in-person pick-up."
