Daytime nap - what age did your child stop?

I am a bit worried that one of my 2.5 year old twins seems to have given up her daytime nap. They sleep 7 pm to 6.30 - 7 am and have 12.30-2.30 nap. One of them sleeps as soon as she is in bed for her nap. The other one has just been not sleeping at all for the past couple of months. I think it is way too early to give up nap. She is ok most of the day, but if we are driving somewhere she will fall asleep in the car, which means she still needs her nap?

I am really not prepared to give up the 2 hour break that we get yet!! I was thinking they nap till something like 4 yrs old?

My 2.6 yrs old sleeps from 8pm to about 7.30am but does not need 2 hours nap anymore during the day. He only sleeps for about 45mins and is totally recharged afterwards.

I agree that 2.5 yrs is still too young to give up naps, but each child is different and most 2.5 yr olds I know do not sleep more than an hour anymore.

My daughter was 3yrs old when she stopped needing to nap.

i would not mind her not sleeping 2 hours - 45 min would be good - but she is not even doing that...

Both of my daughters gave up their daytime naps at a bit over age 2. It just meant that we made sure they had a snack and drink in the mid afternoon instead and moved dinnertime a bit earlier. Then they went to bed at 7:30 or so and slept a nice longggg sleep til morning. Yay!

Mine gave her day sleep up around 3 and would not sleep for love nor money. However at daycare, she would sleep because that was the routine at daycare. She is now 5.5 and will fall asleep in the car, it's just the movement that lulls them off.

When she dropped her sleep, I used to have "quiet time". I would put on a quiet dvd and fold out her little lounge put a blanket over her and said she had to lie there for 1 hour (min) and watch her dvd. Very rarely she fell asleep but she stayed there and for the entire hour, so at leasted she was rested and not going feral by 5.30pm!

My daughter is 3.4 yrs old.and still naps during the daytime. Her nap is anywhere from 30 min to 1 and a half hrs. She is avery very active girl and is often tired after school in the mornings. here are some days she does not have a nap, but if she is cranky, I KNOW it is time for a sleep. Also, if I need to go out, she will quite often have a nap in her stroller

I also have twins and I also wanted them to nap long or at least take a rest in their busy life. I gave them pacifiers until they were 5 but only for afternoon napping times or for a 'chill out' or during flights.....good luck
