Can anyone tell me where I go to to get a multiple entry visa for Shenzhen. I want to get it here in Hong Kong and not at the border. Is it the Dept Immigration? If so what floor? Do I just need HKID card, passport and photo or is there anything else I need? Thanks.

You need a HK ID card with at least 7 months remaining on it, so I was told, but I obtained one without having 7 months left on my ID card. I am not sure, but if you apply for the "F" visa you may only get a 2-entry visa. If you apply for an "L" visa, as I did, you can get a 6 month multi-entry visa. You can go to Wanchai and get one directly at China's Foreign Ministry in HK: http://www.fmcoprc.gov.hk/eng/zgqz/bgfwxx/

www.centamap.com (if you need a map).

To avoid the long queue, I went to China Travel Service. More expensive and it took 4 days.

Basically a friend of mine who doesn't have a HK ID card got a 6 month "L" visa with multiple entries and another bloke got a 2 entry visa only. I can only guess that the difference was the latter asked for an "F" visa.

I showed my marriage certificate and son's Chinese birth certificate although they didn't ask for it. My friend is also married to a mainland woman and he may have shown his marraige certificate. It is very difficult to get 100% accurate and relicable information.

Thanks, I found an address (7th floor, China Resources Building, 26 Harbour Road, WanChai). I went on Friday morning and submitted my application which took about 5 minutes all up. I went back this morning and picked up a multiple entry visa and again that took about 5 minutes. Too easy.

Are you a US citizen? I have just heard that the multiple entry visas are available for US folk but not yet for British. Would like to confirm it, if possible.

Sorry, I am an Australian citizen and have no idea about other nationality's visa requirements. Good Luck

supercat - you "heard" wrong again. My husband is a Brit and just got a 1 year multiple F visa.

hi lace, does your husband have a HK ID card with at least 7 months remaining on it? Only, they told me that that was a requirement. How did he get one?

HK ID cards do not have any limits. The work/dependent/student or whatever visa in your passport has a expire date.

My husband is a permanent HK resident.

ok... if you don't have a HK ID card, permanent or otherwise, the latest rule was that Brits can only get a 2 entry visa in HK. That was two weeks ago; may have changed already.

Non Hong Kong residents can only apply for multiple visas in their home countries - that rule has been in place since April. For Hong Kong residents things have been back to the way before the restrictions since October. There is a huge difference now when it comes to visa applications between residents and non-residents.

Mr. Elle did not think about applying for a 3 year visa - hence he only got 1 year.
