Where/how does one dispose of a real Christmas tree after Christmas?? Thanks!

Last year we ended up cutting/sawing off all the branches, stuffing them into several black bin bags and taking them to the rubbish dump down the road to be collected ... we were unaware at the time that for $120 the place we buy from will collect it after Xmas on your chosen date! ... P & F Gardens, Victoria Road, Pokfulam. ... Well worth the $120!!

I just dragged mine out to the rubbish bin on the back stairs of my flat and left it there! Sapphire, will P & F Gardens collect anyone's tree, or only the trees they sold? Thanks.

ldavy ~ I think it's probably just they ones that they sell. Re the back stairs of your flat - you're not my neighbour are you? Last year they dragged their 8ft tree outside the back stairs and it was left there for 2 weeks as the guys who collect our rubbish refused to take it!! I couldn't get out of my back door to empty my rubbish into my dustbin - and the fire escape was blocked!! Very inconsiderate!! I'm sure it wasn't you!=)

Hi Sapphire,
No, that wasn't me, mine was gone the next day. Telemundo, I tried chopping mine to bits but didn't have a sharp/strong enough blade. I also tried tying all the branches back in close to the tree, the way they were when it was delivered, but couldn't. By the time I'd finished, my entire flat was covered in pine needles.
I won't be in HK for Christmas this year so won't be getting a tree, but I'll check next year to see if Mumster is still around and her husband is still interested in getting more compost!
