I've been looking for this for a while now. Both myself and some people I know are looking for different odds and ends to be done around our homes...painting, picture hanging, fixing various things, etc and it's not easy to find one who's good, reliable, won't make more of a mess than when they started and speaks English enough to understand anything at all! I know of a few western, good handymen out there but usually, they are all booked up and hard to get. Any ideas??

I have been having the same problem but just recently came across Anthony from Red Rock Property Maintenance who did a great job painting my house and fixing a few odds and ends. It's quite a coincidence you should mention this guy. A friend of mine used him actually for some maintenance on a couple of their properties and highly recommended him. I've since used him for some painting and the overall service and quality of the job was a world better than what I'm used to dealing with here in HK.
