Last night's shocking events in Mumbai, India have proved one thing - more and more fundamentalists/extremists are targeting westerners as a means to get attention across the globe, which is unfortunate.
India is not new to these types of attacks - since 1993 it has seen bomb blasts in stock exchanges, train stations and even the parliament , mostly by organisations from across the border.
India has managed to weed out insurgency in places like Punjab and Kashmir and I am confident they will be able to eradicate this one too.
My best wishes are with the people who have suffered loss at the hands of these terrorists and I hope the Indian government can do an Israel style clean up once and for all.
Mumbai is too alive a place to get bogged down and I am certain it will return to it's fast paced way of life in due course.

At least India won't spend 1 trillion dollars toppling a few tangentially connected foreign governments.
For all the hysteria, the terrorist groups don't really have much technology. A bunch of guys with cardboard box cutters during 9-11, this time a handful of desparados with AK-47s.
I'm sure there will an exodus of westerners, even though the risk of getting run over by a taxi in new york or london is 100x higher than being in a terrorist attack someplace else.

scottc: that rule of probability is quite true. Anyways, the reason why this incident is so shocking is because Indians have been used to terrorist attacks on themselves, life would just go on as the people would be quite resilient, whereas yesterday they attacked people who are in India for mostly business i.e. guests. There is a saying in India- "mehmaan bhagwaan" i.e. your guest is like your god and take care of them. Therefore, this incident will probably trigger the type of reaction which the Indian government should have undertaken a few years ago.
Empty Allo : I think tshirts of Osama Bin Laden are in bad taste. South Asians have been on the receiving end for quite few years and they have always been resilient. We are shocked now as these terrorists are not hurting us but the guests in our country. I think it's an unfair comment to generalise like that.
