I am flying to the UK next week and have no idea what teh best way to bring formula is? will be flying BA - heir website stated:
Infants
We offer on board bottle warming and baby-food warming facilities (only un-opened food in a sealed jar) on our longhaul flights.
We do not carry infant meals or baby milk on board so we recommend that you carry your own baby food and equipment (liquids and sufficient supplies of sterilised bottles) in your cabin baggage.
We are not able to sterilise bottles or provide sterilised water.
how do I take on water? can i make bottles up prior to the flight? help

if you do a search for this in the parent section there is tonnes of advice already...
you can use milton tablets to sterilise everything on the plane. and use bottled evian water to make up formula without boiling it first. or used the boiled water they use to make coffee on the plane... up to how particular you are.
every parent is different - some will say sterilising is not really necessary as long as you give the bottle a really good clean with hot water and detergent (yes, in the loos) and air dry. and depends on how young your baby is. i painstakingly used the milton tablets to sterilise but when i do it again i won't bother. i'll just wash with detergent and hot water from the plane. it's only for a few feeds!

we did not sterilise - the flight is around 12-13 hours right - so how many feeds you need? we just took 3-4 bottles and used one at a time. you also can buy disposable bottles (i think B2B might have them) and just throw them away as you go.
Do you have that blue Avent box (or there are other brand alternatives) where you can put exact amount of dry formula in each divided section so all you need to do just pop in the bottle with the water.
Re water - does your baby drink room temp or warm? Ours drank room temp (I specifially got them used to it so it makes life so much easier - did not need to worry about heating anything). If it is room temp - just ask for a bottle of Evian or similar water on the flight and just use that to dilute the formula.

I've always taken about 4/5 bottles on board (already sterilised at home, with boiled water from home) You are able to take them through airport security with the water already in it - just have them ready to show security. I also use the avent formula partitioned container with the formula ready to go -easy! If you haven't flown with a bub before, make sure they have a bottle on take-off and descent to help clear their ears. I also take plenty of wraps and some blue-tac which I use to make a 'tent' if I have the bassinet (stick two corners of wrap to bulkhead and drape over bassinet - allow some space for air flow!)- stops light coming in and people having a peep if bub is trying to sleep!

Wow! Thanks for the tip on the blu-tac, that never occurred to me. We are heading home in a few weeks, so i will definitely put that on the list of things for the plane.

If you are lucky enough to have a seat spare next to you for the baby to sleep on then we used a blanket jammed into the tray table in front and draped above baby and squashed the other end of the blanket behind the arm rests of your own seats (when the arm rests are pushed back). Worked a treat for blocking out light.
