I've also posted this in "Travel" but seems less ppl read that. So have posted here again.

Hi, we're going to NZ for Xmas and wanted to get some recommendations for nice restaurants in Christchurch and Queenstown. We'll be there Xmas Day and NYE respectively. Thanks!

also - Ed is probably going to delete this - Chowhound website is fantastic for recommendations of restaurants around the world - i use it a lot - just go to the Aus and NZ section and have a look - am pretty sure saw posts similar to yours there
