I bought some DVD's that I want to watch on my ipod. How can this be done?

Yes it can be done. You need to rip and convert the DVD first. The best (and free) program to do that is hand brake (google it and down load). If the DVD is encrypted you need a program to get rid of that too (I use Fab5 - it's free, just google and down load). For existing video files in .avi format I us Videora (free as well) to convert them into the apple format.
Note that ripping takes quite a while, depending on the available RAM of your computer.
