ok so i have a question... when you go for a brazilian, do you keep your underwear on?

Usually not. Some salons give you disposable underwear to put on and you can hold it to the side, but it's much easier to take your underwear off if you're having a brazilian. That is why it's good to find someone you can feel comfortable with and build up a rapport.

Hip&trendy, by all means wear a tampon, but please bear in mind (for future waxing appointments) that the worst time of the month to get any waxing done is when you have your period as your pain threshold is much lower. So it may hurt a little more than it would normally.

why should you feel embarassed?
Every women goes through period every month (waxer included).
I think with tampon on ,its quite clean enough for waxing.

i heard about a pill that stops your period for the month. does anyone know anything about that?

Hip&Trendy, don't be embarrassed. But if you're feeling uncomfortable, maybe skip the brazilian until after your period has finished. Alternatively, if you're going away for the weekend, maybe get it done in the beauty salon of the hotel you'll be staying at.
I'm not sure of a pill that stops your period for a month, but I know that if you are on the pill, all you have to do is just keep taking it every day. Miss the sugar tablets and keep taking the regular tablets. You can also get an injection from the doctor which stops your period for up to a year.

thanks shoe girl... i guess i'm just nervous. the thought of spreading my legs with a string hanging out makes me nervous. i cant imagine how gross it must be for the person having to wax me!!!!

maybe you should bear in mind that your bits might be sore & red (like sun-burnt) & covered in red goosebumps like dots for a couple of days (up to a week), depending on your skin sensitivity.... take this into account before having a brazilian right on vacation w. hubby....
