Hi. I'm visiting HK without a visa (as a tourist), so my maximum stay is 90 days. I want to stay for 6 months, so I'll leave HK a couple of times and come back to extend my stay (I hope I won't have any problem). I know I can do this by going to Shenzhen and coming back, but getting a chinese visa is a hassle, and I don't think there is anything really interesting in Shenzhen.
My other cheap option is Macau. My question is: will they seal my passport for another 90 days if I go to Macau and come back? Since they both are SARs I'm not sure how this works.
Thanks.

Try Manila or Taipei flights from $800 maybe there is a courrier flight you can get on also.

I only plan to do it twice (enough for 6 months), so I don't think I'll get into trouble. Even the chinese embassy in Spain told me to do that before I came here. The only thing that I was worried about is that since HK and Macau are SARs, maybe the period of stay was not extended when going from one to other. Since you say it's ok, I'll do that, thanks.

Funnily enough, when I entered HK 3 weeks ago the immigration officer hardly looked at my passport. Not even a question about my stay :). I remember when I entered USA, the officer in Philadelphia talked to me as if I was a f*cking criminal.

I bump this (in case other people are planning to do the same) to say that I already did it and I had no problems. I went to Macau on January and to Beijing on March. Again, the immigration officers barely looked at my passport, both times. No questions asked. I've been here 4 months with the tourist visa, and will stay until june :P
